I recently got out and of an abusive relationship and am struggling being a single mother. My vehicle died on me today and I don't know how I'm going to get myself (disabled) and my children (special needs) to our doctor appointments, therapy appointments, etc. I have no family nor friends to turn to. I'm embarrassed to post this but honestly don't know what to do.

I found this information. Please call them. Check it out. Please update us on this too. there are several organizations in Florida that offer free medical transportation, including: Clear Health Alliance Offers free rides to covered health care appointments for Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe counties by calling (877) 671-6671, and for all other counties by calling (877) 779-8617. Rides should be scheduled at least three business days in advance. Humana Offers free ways to plan rides to the doctor for Florida Medicaid members. Sunshine Health Offers free rides to medical appointments, healthcare facilities, and pharmacies, with no limit to the number of trips that can be scheduled in a year. Prior authorization is required for trips over 100 miles. We Care of Central Florida Offers free independent transportation to and from cancer care and dental appointments through a partnership with Uber Health.

I can completely identify with you. I no longer drive due to my disabilities. I have no means of getting to my appointments either. My mother in law often had to take me. Ugh My state has some additional resources and connects you with people who are will transport you for free. However , some have low costs to use. I am more than happy to help you look. Not sure of your age, however, are you on SSI or SSDI? Also, are your children also receiving government benefits? Supplemental Security Income (SSI) These benefits are for people who are blind, elderly and people with disabilities who have limited income and resources. To receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), you need to prove that you have a disability and that you have limited income. To receive Supplemental Security Income, the things you own cannot be worth more than $2,000. If Supplemental Security Income is right for you, you will receive money each month.
